Chateau Laguiole - Versailles - Wine Key - Tulip Tree
A little piece of history...
The handle of this corkscrew is the Marie-Antoinette's Tulip tree from the Chateau de Versailles. This tree was uprooted during the terrible storm on December 26th, 1999.
The tree was located in the gardens of the palace of the small Trianon of Marie-Antoinette. Originally imported from Virginia (USA), this tree offered to France by the Founding Fathers, was planted in 1776.
The seal of Marie-Antoinette representing her nested initials is engraved on the corkscrew.
